  We approached DesignBuild Homes to help us with a small lot development on a narrow block of inner city land. We wanted to capitalise on the growth in the area, and wanted the home to appeal to a more discerning market.

  With the recent fluctuations in the housing market, a strict budget was set as the focal point. DesignBuild's building designer, Tony Domingo, suggested modifying a standard plan from their range to save on design fees. The plan was suitable for narrow lots and saved time and money in the design process. We were impressed with the clever design modifications, all of which, we felt would appeal to our target market.

  Due to time constraints and logistics, DesignBuild was able to help us with submitting plans to Council and all other administration issues. The home was built on time and within budget and sold quickly once it was placed on the market. We were very happy with the entire process with DesignBuild Homes and already have plans for our next development with them.

  Living in a house and street we loved, but with a growing family, we made the decision to stay put and renovate/extend.

  Initially we had a few architects shy away from the job due to our tight budget and the possible complexity involved with the property being on a “commercial character register”.

  We were lucky enough to be referred to DesignBuild, who offered a completed Design/Construct/Project Management package. Their Design team, were fantastic in interpreting our ideas and keeping us on track with budget. We couldn’t have wished for a better design outcome, especially with regards to tying in a very modern extension to a character home.

  The team’s knowledge of the industry enabled us to progress through all the Council approvals swiftly and they managed the tender process very professionally.

  We had the misfortune of our initial builder going bust and we were then left in the hands of the BSA to sort out the mess.

  DesignBuild offered to assist us with the completion of our build and there professionalism certainly assisted us with the process.

  It is always hard to complete somebody else’s work but they took to the task really well and assured that the product that we ended up with was far superior to what would have been produced by the previous builder.

  We developed an excellent working relationship with DesignBuild and they ensured that any work that had previously been done that was sub standard was rectified to an appropriate level.

  As with any build there are always differences of opinion but we found with DesignBuild that these differences were always sorted out quickly and fairly and with little if any disruption to the build process.

  This is the third house we have built and should we build again we would certainly consider using DesignBuild to construct the next one.

  In summary they had a thankless task that was taken to professionally and was completed within the time frame that they had indicated and pretty much within the budget figure that was set.

  Being the 5th home we have built, I under estimated the value of good custom design and learnt much from the designers throughout the design process. As all of our design decisions and selections were made during the design stage, we were not pressured to make any decisions during the building of the home, which we have had to do with different builders in the past.

  I would happily build with DesignBuild again and would recommend them to anyone considering designing and building a new home.

  We were very happy with the facade change that Tony did on our house. It was a total modernisation to our house that was built 10 years ago. We have had a lot of people in our neighbourhood stop and tell us how great the house looks now.

  Lindy from Windemere Interiors chose our paint colour, I was quiet nervous about the result as it was such a bold statement but we absolutely love the look and the colour really suits the facade.

  The process was very easy and we were extremely happy with the result from drawings through to completion.
